Swedish Days

Today my family and I went to Swedish Days- the Midsommar festival that happens every year where I live. There are a lot of Swedish immigrants and Americans of Swedish heritage where I live, so every year they have a festival where all the Swedish businesses and restaurants and groups set up booths with food and games. It's a lot of fun!

This year I was inspired to do "Swedish" themed makeup, inspired by Sanna of MakeupMyLack.
Mine's not as good as hers, but it was still fun to do in honor of all the wonderful Swedish bloggers I've met through this blog. You guys are great!

(Flash, because it made my eyeball look cool. LOL)

I used:
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
MAC Chrome Yellow
MAC Orange
MAC Crystal Avalanche
Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Radium
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara

How did I do?

  3. Sanna, thanks! I'm not sure how Swedish the actual festival is besides the Swedish flags, Swedish meatballs (are those really Swedish?) and the Saabs driving around, but it is really fun! :D What do people in Sweden do for Midsommar?

  4. You did great! And your eyebrows look perfect.. How do you manage them? I'm intrigued!

For midsommar alot of us Swedes eat alot of pickled herring (and some other fishy things), drink quite large amounts of snaps and dance around a midsommarstång (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fb/Mittsommer-skansen.jpg/529px-Mittsommer-skansen.jpg, which is actually a symbol of fertility! Sounds fun, eh? ;)

  13. Ah, my friend lives in St. Charles, but I've gone shopping at the Geneva Commons mall. I love that place! Hehe.

I'm from Northbrook (30 mins north of Chicago) so I don't make it out that way often, but I heard the festival was good.

I wish I could pull off a shadow look like yours. Yellow and blue both clash with my skin tone pretty badly. :(
