M*A*D Minerals!

I just tried MAD Minerals for the first time and I'm in love.

I got a few samples (in jars!!) and they are more than generous. They say 1/4 teaspoon, but they look a lot fuller than other 1/4 tsp. samples I've gotten in the past. Maybe the jars are smaller, I don't know, but these are really large samples.

The turnaround time was lightning fast- they shipped the next day and it took three days to get to me!

These pigments are dense and smooth and apply well with very little fallout. I used them over my usual Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I had no issues with the pigmentation. They went on vibrant and blended like a dream. This could be the mineral makeup company I've been looking for!

I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I'll be sure to take some.

I can see two of the items I tried being everyday items for me- Candlelight pigment and Black Cherry gel eyeliner.

The Indelible Gel eyeliner is amazing too. It's so smooth, not too dry, not too wet and dries pretty quickly. It doesn't give me that weird fallout like Fyrinnae liquid liner. The color I chose (black cherry) is beautiful- it's like black with burgundy shimmer, it looks like a rich mahogany brown with shimmer when it's mixed together.

Yay!! I'm so excited!

I also ordered a few samples from Pure Luxe, and I'll be sure to review those as soon as they arrive.

I'm working on a massive swatch-fest, so be on the lookout for a flood of Rescue Beauty Lounge, Essie, China Glaze, Lippmann and other miscellaneous nail polish swatches!

  3. Hey scrangie, I have a personal question that I thought you could help me with, seeing as your so experienced with nail polish :D

See I just got my ball dress and shoes, I was wondering if you could help me find the perfect OPI colour to match?

I thought of Timeless is more, Oh so glam, Shes golden, curry up dont be late (my mum suggested that one but I think no) and Birthday babe!

Take a look at the pics to see what you think! The dress is silver, the bow is gold and the shoes are a champagney colour...

  4. Wow, Tabe-Chan, that's *gorgeous*!

I think Oh So Glam would be a great match! It's not the same color as the dress so it's not too matchy, and it would highlight both the gold/champagne and silver colors.

OPI Stars In My Eyes (soft silver with slight blueish tones), I Only Drink Champagne (light shimmery champagne) or I'm A Princess, You're Not! (sheer neutral with pink and champagne flash) would also be nice subtle polishes that go with the color scheme.

Have fun at the ball! The dress and accessories are lovely, you're going to look amazing!

    Hope this helps :)

  8. Sanna, they really do! Swatches are coming... lots of em lol :)

Laura, I love them! Thank you for recommending them :)

N, I have a few favorite eyeliner brushes- I use MAC 209 quite often, but really my favorite is this:
    http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=638&ParentCat=37

As you can see, it's dirt cheap! Don't let the price fool you, because it works perfectly. The bristles are long enough to create a smooth line, stiff enough but not too stiff and it holds a lot of color.

I haven't had any luck with "bent" eyeliner brushes (always poke myself in the eye) or angled ones, but other people love them.

    Tabe-Chan, you're welcome :) I hope they're what you're looking for!
