It's not nail polish!

I particularly liked this eye look I did the other day, so I took a few pictures!

I love the way bright pink and bronze look together. I love doing a bronze eye with a hit of bright color. I usually do hot pink or turquoise to accent the bronze.

What I used:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance from lid to brow
Fyrinnae Shrouded In Gold all over lid
Fyrinnae Lousy Tip in crease and lower lashline
MAC Fuchsia pigment applied with MAC 209 brush and a little MAC Water Based Mixing Medium as liner
Tightline with Urban Decay Zero 24/7 Eyeliner
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara
Urban Decay Brow Box in Brown Sugar

I've been on the hunt for the perfect hot pink liner and so far my search has come up empty. I have one that I like from Hot Topic, but the texture is odd and if you apply too much it peels off. The best I've been able to do for hot pink liner is pigment in mixing medium, but I'd prefer something more durable, like a pencil, gel or liquid liner. Anyone know of a great bright pink / hot pink / neon pink liner?

What do you think would happen if I used a long-wearing lipliner as eyeliner, like Urban Decay 24/7 lipliner? Disaster? I have Gash... maybe I'll do an experiment. Hmm....

  1. I have and love the Aqua Eyes eyeliner from Makeup For Ever in 13L Fuschia Pink. While the texture isn't quite as lovely as Urban Decay's 24/7 liners, it holds up exceptionally well, is very precise, and has incredible color payoff. It's so bright and fantastic, it verges on day-glo!

  4. I have an eyeshadow from Hot Topic that is a bright bright pink. I add eyedrops and apply it as a liner sometimes.

And if you're putting in an order I'd highly recommend any of the nail polishes (cheap as chips and amazing unique colours that wear like iron), and the Dazzle Dust eyeshadow pots are awesome too.

    Cheap-ish shipping as well.

  7. ...when I say "cheap as chips" that's basically an English saying for "it's a bargain" - not that the polish is cheap because it chips!! Haha, oops.

  8. agreed with the previous poster, coastal scents has a bright pink gel liner called Sexy Pink. not quite neon, but not bad for $7.

  10. Hey girl. I LOVE seeing your makeup pics too! A couple years ago I dressed up as a vampire for Halloween and I used long wearing red lipliner for my eyes. It stayed on and didn't irritate them at all. Just some FYI :)

  11. You did a gorgeous job! For a pink liner - have you tried Lime Crime? http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_66 Pink Poodle or Primadonna are both yummy pinks. Also, Xenia is a wonderful business woman. I'd highly recommend any of her obscenely bright products!

  15. Why not use lip liner near the eye? I do...I have some random pink lip pencil that I use as eyeliner. I don't put it on the inner lid, but it works really well and stays put a long time.

  17. i used to use red lipliner as eyeliner and set it with hot pink loose shadow. i did it long long ago in high school so i used 99 cent wet n wild lipliner, worked like a charm.

  20. i would 2nd the Aqua Eyes suggestion. It's a great hot pink liner, very creamy to apply and doesn't budge!

  21. I would be careful using lip products around the eyes. Some of the red/pink dyes in particular that are used in lip products are not safe for the eye area. Would really stink to have swollen, puffy eyes due to a reactio :-(

Anonymous, YES! THANK YOU! MAC rarely fails me, I am so looking forward to that. And I actually bought the Hot Pink NYX glitter liner, it arrived yesterday :)

    Yummy411, thank you :)

    Andreja, thank you :)

Jaxapella, that seals it, I'm going to Sephora!

Anonymous, thank you! I am a little worried, but since I can wear all types of red eyeshadow (including non-eye safe pigments) without irritation, I'm thinking I might not be too sensitive to the pigment. :)
