Color Club Foiled Collection Fall 2011 Swatches and Review

Another little release from Color Club for this fall! This one's called Foiled, and it's a set of six foil shades (obviously). They are:

Antiquated. A light champagne / blonde gold foil. This has a silver foil base so it's interesting to see how the gold and silver colors play together in the light.

Cold Metal. A very bold blue foil. This is the most deeply colored foil in the collection. You can barely tell it has a silver base because it's so very, very blue.

Foil Me Once. A light mauve-pink foil. Looks like wrapping paper!

Hot Like Lava. Another brightly colored foil, though not quite as saturated as Cold Metal. This one is a deep magenta, or a light cool red depending on the lighting. Reminds me of Hard Candy Scam / Urban Decay Big Bang.

Lumin-Icent. A very pale ice blue foil.

Perfect Mol-Ten. A pale green foil. Not as light as seafoam green, but still pretty pale.

These foils look insanely shiny and bright in the sunlight:

Perfect Mol-Ten.

Foil Me Once.

The formula on these is awesome. Dense, smooth, not too thick. One coat coverage on all shades. I did two anyway, but I really only needed one. Would probably be good for stamping because they're so thick and dense, but I haven't tried it yet. Average dry time, neither super fast nor slow. Good brushes, good bottles, no defects with any of that. One thing worth noting about these is that they're extremely bright and shiny even without topcoat. I'd still recommend topcoat to protect your manicure and dry it quickly, but these don't really need it like some polishes do.

Overall, nice little set, very pretty colors but nothing truly new. I know I have at least three versions of each blue / gold / green / pink foil in my collection so there's a high probability of already owning dupes for this collection. Great formula, though. Guess I can always count on Color Club for that nice formula! If you've never tried a foil finish polish before, this would be an excellent collection to start with because they're so dense/opaque, shiny and easy to apply. The price is right, too.

These are available now, but I don't yet see them listed on Color Club's official website.

(These were sent to me for review.)

  1. I was planning to skip on these but once you said, "Would probably be good for stamping because they're so thick and dense" I knew I had to have at least a couple. Great review, as always! :)

  14. Hot Like Lava and Mol-Ten are the ones here that catch my eye. I almost won Lava but have not been watching my eBay very well of late - I have been watching my pocket book more so guess it's good I am not winning things! Surely wish someone in my area sold Color Club.
