Random Swatch: Rescue Beauty Lounge Au Chocolat

As much as I love all the colors of the rainbow, there are certain colors that I just seem to have an affinity for- brown would be one of them.

Fall is my favorite season- if it was October all year round I'd be ecstatic- and a few polish colors really remind me of fall. Gold, copper, bronze, orange and most of all, brown. Needless to say I have quite a few brown polishes, ranging from chocolate milk colored to fresh dirt colored. I like brown shimmer, brown creme, brown glitter, brown frost, you name it, I'm there.

Out of all my brown creme polishes, I've found a new love: Rescue Beauty Lounge Au Chocolat.

Here's Au Chocolat. It's the perfect dark chocolate shade without a hint of shimmer. It makes me want to put on a warm fuzzy sweater and go for a walk in the crisp, cold autumn air. Unfortunately, it's July and I have to suffer through a few more months of summer.

But, still. Look how pretty that is. I feel like my nails don't do it justice. It's perfect.

I know most people don't consider brown to be a beautiful color- in fact, I think most people find it boring, but I love it. If I can't convince you, check out The Polish Addict's swatches of gorgeous, vampy brown colors. There's a chocolate shade to fit every skintone, and I think you should really give one a try!

  4. Masa_inn, LOL, sorry! *ducks flying rotten tomatoes*

  6. PS: I have to tell you, you are really talented writer. I actually look forward to *read* your blog, not just to look at pretty pictures. Many beauty-related blogs are way too... narrative (dare I say - boring? Misamasa is a great example of that LOL). Yours can be fun to read even for a makeup absentee.

/Goodness, I'm SUCH a nerd to tell stuff like this!/

  7. Diann_co, it really is! ;-)

Misa_masa, AWWWWWWWW! :D That makes me SO happy! I try to be interesting and honest, cause I also find beauty blogs to be a little bit "canned", like they just recite what the packaging says.... I like to sound human :D Really, that means a lot to me! And hey, I like your Misa blog a lot!

  8. Rich, dark browns like Au Chocolat are the only browns I like on myself, though my bottle of Noisette is just so pretty!

  10. Hi! Yummy, beautiful brown and definitely not boring, but classy...May I just ask if you consider ChG Chocodisiac close to this RBL or would you think that Misa Passion For Fashion would be better? Or maybe another dupe? Please help me in my quest of an "available" dupe to Au Chocolat...(*CRIES* I want RBL to ship to the UK!! snif, snif)
    Thanks a lot,
    Ana

  11. Au Chocolate really is a beautiful colour, and I'm not normally a brown lover. I'm really keen to try RBL polishes after getting Ji's book but I'm not sure which colour to start with!

  12. Shryh, I wanted to try Noisette but they no longer have it on their website! I wonder if they discontinued it?

Sminkan, yay another brown fan! :D

Hi Ana! China Glaze Chocodisiac is a bit lighter than Au Chocolat, and Passion 4 Fashion doesn't have the red undertones that Au Chocolat has. If you go to nailgal.com I posted a picture of Chocodisiac and you can compare them :D

HotPinkHeels, it depends on what colors you like. If you like green at all I'd highly recommend Recycle, if you like blue Dead Calm is amazing. If you like dark colors, Drifter and Film Noir are gorgeous!

  13. I don't own ANY browns! Not a single one! ChG Unplugged will change that though, when I order next week. If I like how that one looks I may have to try some creme ones.

Thanks to your blog and The Polish Addict's, I feel like I MUST HAVE RBL Purple Haze and Dead Calm! I'm trying to resist the urge to buy (damn price tag) but those two colors are just too beautiful. And all the raving about the formula sounds fab as well. :o)

  14. Grace, Unplugged is awesome, it's very wearable!

As for the Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes, well, I'm sure you'd love them! The price is a bit hefty, but sometimes it's worth it :D hehehe

  18. That looks gorgeous. Maybe a little too red for me, but I agree, browns are beautimous (it's Sunshine1983 from MUA btw :) ). Don't suppose you have a pic of Passion for Fashion purty purty please? I think my world's favourite brown is Attidue Chocolate Royale tho. I may need to back that one up before the DC it. United Beauty always kill off the good ones...!

  19. Oh, hey there Sunshine1983!! I could definitely snap a pic of Passion 4 Fashion when the some comes out! I'll post it when I get a chance! :)
