First try with BundleMonster

I just found out about this BundleMonster thing what... last week? But I wish I'd learned of it sooner!

For the people who have no idea wtf I'm talking about, BundleMonster is a company that sells various things and among them are these marvelous Konad-style image plates. Basically they're off brand Konad plates with more interesting designs.

The first design I tried was the stars and I forget which plate number that is, but I think you can only order all the plates at once now so the star will be in there somewhere.

First, with Konad Black special polish over BB Couture Coal Miner. I like this very much.

Then with China Glaze Millennium over Coal Miner. Pretty, but after wearing these around for a day, I think I prefer the black-over-grey. That and my chrome designs sometimes come out funny cause I work too slowly.

A strange thing I noticed with this particular design is that it seems... too deep? After I scrape the plate and pick up the image, there's always a lot of polish left in the large star.

The plates seemed pretty similar to real Konad plates with a few obvious differences. First, these BundleMonster ones are SHARP!! They have no paper backing like Konad and they feel really thin. They require you to remove the protective plastic film on the face of the plate before use and I nearly sliced every finger open trying to complete that task.

Second, the full nail designs aren't as big as Konad's designs so if you have larger nails, you'll have to stamp twice or something because they're short and narrow.

I'll try out some more designs next time I'm inspired to do so, but my first impression of these was definitely a good one.

  2. I’ve had fun with Bundle Monster plates too. I got a set back in January, that aren’t as interesting as the ones they have now. (i.e., tiny designs, flowers, hearts, the designs seem a tad shallow) The newer ones have numbers BM1-BM21, the older ones have numbers that seem kind of random.

I prefer the newer plates, and love the full nail designs. Guess I’m lucky, because they seem to fit my nails pretty well, though I do wish they were a tad larger, just on principle, so I wouldn’t have to work quite so carefully to get the design centered.

  3. Your nails look pretty all decked out with stars. I am happy with my bundle monster order overall. I just find that I have to work faster with stamping to have the image adhere cleanly. The designs are a lot of fun!

  8. Oh...I might try these ones. I liked the black on coal miner too. I was wondering if you were gonna post pictures of the new BB coutures. (No pressure, it's just a pleasure coming to your blog and seeing all the pretty pictures. If not, it's a pleasure to see the old ones anyway!).

  11. I ordered some of these BM plates over the weekend. I already know the full nail ones will not work with me as the konad ones fit my nail just right, so these will be too small, but the small designs are too cute! Very worried about the sharpness though, I have heard of so many people cutting themselves on these. Would it help if you stuck something like ducktape to the reverse, making it more like the konad paper backing?

  14. I placed my order on Friday, looking forward to receiving soon as everyone says they have super-fast shipping. I'm OK with having to double-stamp, because I already have to do that with Konad because of the legnth of my nails LOL.

  21. I bought some Konad plates and two special nail polish, but I just can't get them to... Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I follow all instruction but it doesn't even transfer on to the stamp. Does anyone know how I can get it to work.

    Maybe I should try BM
