Eye of the Day

I'm on a huge makeup kick right now. That silly Bare Escentuals Foiled Eye kit set the whole thing off. I may have hauled just a little too much makeup this month... but... I got a couple of my recent purchases in the mail today and I had to play around a bit. I like how this one turned out.

Natural light.

Flash.

This was:
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Leopard-Print Galaxy on lid
Fyrinnae Dokkálfar in crease
Fyrinnae Arcane Magic Dark Fantasy on lower lashline
Bare Escentuals Emotion with MAC water-based mixing medium as liner
Laura Geller Wonder Wand highlight
Urban Decay Zero tightline
L'Oreal Double Extend with Lash Boosting Serum mascara

The Leopard-Print Galaxy shadow is pretty cool- it's a soft antique gold with kind of a... coral? Coral pink? sheen and shimmer to it. Dokkálfar is awesome in the jar, but I had a hard time keeping the intensity once it was on the lid. I think I need to work on my technique more. Maybe I should use it wet next time.

Bare Escentuals Emotion is *awesome*. It's like if Essie Sexy Divide was an eyeshadow. So glad I got that one. I have plans for this one. Oh yes.

Then I was goofing around taking stupid pictures and ended up with the GIANT SCARY EYEBALL!!!!

OH NOES!!!!!!!

  8. I get more of these scary eye pics than regular nice normal ones when I try to take an EOTD pic. I fail horribly at taking pics of myself!

  13. I love the EOTD, the green colors are gorgeous! I'm on a huge make-up kick right now, and I'm in love with MAC but also really like Aromaleigh. Their mineral eyeshadows are all unique and very pretty! One eyeshadow called Forget-Me-Not, looks to me just like Zoya Charla in eye-shadow form! It's gorgeous and makes me feel like a mermaid :P
And I love the look of tightlining and waterlining, but it kinda freaks me out that I will poke my eyeball!

  19. I like your make-ups! I have a lot of mineral eyeshadows from Pure Luxe, The She Space (unfortunately they went out of business a few days ago and starting another line, but I'm not digging the new colors yet, not enough choices and too light, in my opinion), Meow Cosmetics, TaylorMadeMinerals and even Fyrinnae, though Fyrinnae always annoy me with their non-working check-out system. Sometimes I suspect they don't want international clients.

Oh and what you should try it, is ArchetypeCosmetics. You will love the names and the colors, I predict that :)) Samples were only 25 Cents for one baggie and you get several uses out of it. I own a few fullsizes now, "gloomy sunday", "hell's kitten" and "Ashflower".

The eyeshadows have such nice cool names, like St.Alia-of-the-knives (from Dune), Pixie Poop, This night to end, Vagina Dentata, Witching Hour, Veil of Shadows, Fanged Smile, Beetlewing etc.

I think if you like Fyrinnae (cause I'm also a sucker for their names), you will certainly like ArchetypeCosmetics as well.

  22. Hi Scrangie - your eyes are captivating, bewitching - they're gorgeous! And the colors you chose are perfect (I love green anyway). I wish I had the time to spend on my eyes like this now - I used to but my life is really hectic but this post brings back some magical memories for me - thank you! And you are beautiful as well as a beautiful person! Keep up the great work!
