Too Excited Not To Swatch: Rescue Beauty Lounge Spring/Summer 2009

For economically challenged Glamazons. Link

Even though the sun was only out for about six nanoseconds today, I just had to try to swatch these. I even tried to do it with artificial light, but I broke the lightbulb in my lamp! I am just way too excited about this collection to wait for the perfect time to swatch. I am obsessed with these polishes!!

So, keep in mind that these are somewhat rushed.

Also, be sure to check out The Nailphile's swatches of these, as well as All Lacquered Up's coverage of this collection!

Ji Baek describes these polishes much better than I can: "They sparkle like little diamonds."

That's the truth- these are some of the sparkliest glitters I have ever seen. And since they're all jewel-toned, it's just like having gem-encrusted nails!

Here are the bottle pictures again, in case you missed it:

Locavore, Frugalista, Look Rich, Be Cheap

Look Rich, Be Cheap. A mix of gold and purple glitter. In certain lights, the gold is more dominant, like this picture. In other lights, the purple is more dominant. Super cool. I think someone said this reminded them of Mardi Gras, and I'd have to agree!

Frugalista. Gunmetal shot through with purple glitter. Man, I love this. It's a silvery gunmetal, more silver than grey and a bright flashy purple. Like Look Rich, Be Cheap, the silver or purple will be dominant depending on the lighting.

Locavore. Top photo is sunlight, bottom photo is dim indoor light. A dazzling combination of gold, green, blue and silver glitter. It looks like a treasure chest full of gemstones! A pirate's booty. The emerald green shade is dominant, but the golden glitter takes on an almost celery-green shade next to it! The purple adds mystery and depth and the blue really compliments the green. This is one of the most perfect glitter polishes I own- it's entirely unique! I don't have a single polish like this, even with the hundreds of glitters I own.

This collection is just incredible. It makes my heart skip a beat! I'm a die-hard glitter fan, so I nearly fainted when I saw these polishes!

If I get a chance to take better, sparklier swatches I definitely will. These polishes deserve it.

I still can't calm down about these- this is the most exciting collection I've seen all year! I don't know how anyone's going to top this!

  12. I wonder what these would look like over black polish... Like one coat over black. What do you think, Scrangie? Yay or nay?

  13. These swatches are beautiful!!! Even with all the glitter polishes out there, I think these are completely unique (I love the complementary colors of glitter, it's a nice surprise!) I also wonder what these would look like over black.

  14. Oh, Hell No! I'm in a Disco Hell Nightmare!

Thanks for giving me a look, tho.

I liked the "Chunky OMG Scrangelicious Oh the Humanity Abomination" better. But I'm a freak.

  21. That is some major bling!! Wow! Now I really want these!! I was crazy enough not getting Concrete Jungle, but Ji Baek is making me feel guilty. I need to get a bottle of RBL nail polish... now.

  22. Ooooooooo this is just toooo gorgeous! Unfortunately I don't know where to get Rescue Beauty Lounge products (at a reasonable price) on the internet. This brand is rather hard for overseas nail fanatics to have access to!

I can only see the swatches and drill (tears)

  23. Eighteen bucks for "look rich be cheap" or "frugalista"?

That takes balls, and I don't mean the things that mix the polish when you shake the bottles.

  24. I love these! I have died an gone to glitter heaven :-)
    Thanks for posting!

  28. maybe I'm just a snob, or don't understand fashion, but I can't stand glitter polishes because they look like something a 12 year old would wear. I can deal with some shimmer, but ultimately prefer a creme finish. I guess that just leaves more glitters for the rest of you!

  29. love frugalista, it's stunningly beautiful. All these polishes look amazing!

  30. Those are lovely!!! Almost tempts me in to wearing glitters.

  32. Scrangie~are these bumpy or smooth? Bumpy is usually a deal breaker for me LOL! Awesome swatches as usual :-)

  33. I just ordered Frugalista for my store Trocadero in Omaha, NE -- it is so gorgeous. I wore one coat over RBL's Grunge and it was amazing. It's also great one coat over Black Russian to add more sparkle. I think using Frugalista over chipping nail polish is a great easy fix. I stock 10 colors of RBL at my store and just had to add Frugalista for its fabulousness!

  34. Scrangie: I wasn't sure where I should comment, but surely you will receive this msg. I've been following your blog now for several months and I'm hooked! I LOVE your nails and swatches! Your blog is also very fun to read and you can be quite the comedienne ;)

I would like to repost this post on fb because I really want people to vote for Lovacore back! Maybe if they see how gorgeous it is, others will vote to bring it back. I have until Friday 12/10 to rally the troops! May I attach your link?
