Neutral eye look featuring Too Faced Better Than False Lashes

I mentioned in my previous post (the review of the Too Faced Better Than False Lashes system) that I have better results when I use my own mascara with the fibers, so I thought I'd take a picture using the Too Faced fibers with the Tarte mascara I'm currently using:

Here's what I used:

Benefit Cabana Glama
Peach Fizz on lid, Bronze Buzz on outer lid, Cocoa Pizzazz in crease and on lower lashline
(all over Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Greed)

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!
One coat of mascara, followed by two coats of fibers, then two coats of mascara on top of the fibers to seal them.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System Step Two: Nylon Lash Fibers
Two coats of fibers sandwiched between layers of the Tarte mascara.

Like I mentioned before, the fibers give a lot of extra length, but I think they work better with a wetter mascara because the one that comes in the kit is too dry to get a very good coat of it on the lashes and over the fibers. Plus, a less dry mascara helps the fibers cling better and gives a little volume boost, too. I updated my Too Faced review to include a picture of my lashes with the Tarte/Too Faced combo, but just thought I'd do a separate post just in case anyone else was curious to see how it looked.

  2. Ahh...those fibers look so scaryyyyy! I'd be too chicken to try it.

Wow, your lashes really look so long when you use these products!

    1. Awe, they're not scary, they're really really fine and fuzzy! But I gotta admit, if I get some down towards my lashline, I can feel them tickling my eyeball all day. lol

I'm disappointed that the length isn't as blatant looking in the photos as it is in real life. I can feel them touching my browbone, it's kinda creepy but they look great. Hahaha!

  3. Your lashes look so much better with the Tarte mascara than the Too Faced one. Beautiful eye makeup too.

    1. Thank you! I think so too. I think the Too Faced Activating Mascara is just too dry to cover the fibers and make it look smooth. I'm going to try thinning it out and see if it gives me a smoother look like this combination does.

  4. Those are some serious lashes! I love the eyeshadows from that Benefit set, too... I keep swatching it lovingly, but I don't want the rest of the products in the kit! Beautiful look on you.

    1. You know, I really didn't like them at first (the Benefit shadows), I thought they were boring... But then I wore them a few times and can't get over how flattering and brightening they look on my eyes. The peach is SO pretty. I feel bad for saying they were boring now! lol

  6. Oooo I like the look of them with a regular mascara better! I might have to get this or one of the cheaper dupes of the fibers (are the dupes that you mentioned in the last post as good?). I have shortish asian lashes that could definitely use the help!

    1. These Too Faced fibers do seem to "melt" or soften a little more compared to the Magic Lash fibers I used to use, but they are extremely similar.

  8. Your lashes look amazing but I was wondering if these are safe for contact lens use. I've heard that fiber mascaras can damage your eyes if you are wearing contacts.

    1. On Sephora's listing for the product (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P309130&categoryId=B70), it does state that "This product is ophthalmologist tested and approved for use by those who wear contact lenses." BUT! I wear contacts and while I haven't had any damage, they sure do itch if you get one in your eye!

  9. I feel like such a fan girl, ooh-ing and ahh-ing over your pictures. Your lashes look SO good, and the neutral look shocked me a little, I'm used to your BAM! in your face type looks. :]
