Swatching my China Glaze Collection, Part One

I've been working on swatching my entire China Glaze collection for quite some time now. I actually started the project almost two years ago, but I never got very far and now I've had to re-do a lot of the old terrible pictures I took. I have made a lot of progress lately but I also realized that it's a really big project and I'm not sure how exactly to break it into posts.... I haven't even finished swatching everything yet (still have over half a Helmer drawer left to go). I think the easiest way is just to do it alphabetically instead of trying to somehow sort them. Oh well, I'll figure it out as I go!

100 Proof Pink

Aurora Borealis (over Liquid Leather)

Avalanche (an avalanche... of frost!)

Barefoot Beauty

Bohemian Chic

Bohemian Rhapsody.... Scaramouche! Scaramouche! Will you do the fandango?

Cafe Mystique

Cat's Eye

Channelesque

Cherry Crystal

Coconut Kiss

Coral Star. (Sensing a trend with these old China Glazes?)

Cranberry Flame

Crystal Chandelier

Drama Queen

Draped in Velvet. Yes, I needed four pictures of it. It's one of their most beautiful colors- check out the nearly-holographic shimmer!

Fiji Fling

Glacier. Or, as that frequently nude, urine-drinking Discovery Channel guy would say, Glassy-ear.

Groovy Green.

Gypsy Cocoa

Gypsy Girl

Heart of Africa

Here's Looking At Hue! This one's a really cool duochrome, doesn't show up well in the picture.

Hot Lava Love

Hue Thrill Me

Hurts So Good

I'm Not Bitter

Jumpin' Jupiter (over Liquid Leather.)

Lady Sings The Hues. (Hint: The theme is frost.)

I'll stop there for now. Interesting selection of colors, right? See any you like? I am rather fond of the "Hue" series, though I don't remember the actual name of the collection. I also dig the all-red voodoo themed one...

More to come.

  13. Hah I can only assume you're talking about Bear Grylls. You know, when I first heard of it I thought it was a cooking show on FoodNetwork LOL. I'd like to say I wouldn't kick him out of my bed, er tent, er leaf hut, but I'd be rather concerned over what tropical disease or parasites he might be harboring!
Mmm mmm mmm I love me an arctic episode with a nude Bear. What a freak!

  21. Some really awesome colors and some really frosty ones. Love the bar glitters. And thumps up for Earthworm Jim. My siblings and I loved those games.

  22. Draped in Velvet looks sweet, as does Hue Thrill me. Have you got Turned up Turquoise? I want it to be amazing. I haven't thought of Earthworm Jim in a super long time. I'll probably have to introduce him to my 8yo son.

  26. Yay! I look forward to seeing them all!

I can't believe I don't have Draped in Velvet. I got Anklets of Amethyst so why didn't I get that one too? I'm off to get it on my next order then.

  27. There's so many polishes I've never seen before. Probably most aren't availavle. Groovy Green is gorgeous!

  28. Wow, what a project! I haven't seen most of these before so this is really interesting. I really like Cats Eye, Draped in Velvet, Jumpin' Jupiter, and Lady Sings the Hues. (despite its frosty-ness.)

  29. Is Groovy Green the same as Refresh Mint? I noticed that it was discontinued as soon as the Up&Away collection came out. It's been one of my faves. Never bought refresh mint because I didn't want a duplicate.

CG is my favorite nailpolish brand. I feel special that I have most of the colors you posted.

  30. "Glacier. Or, as that frequently nude, urine-drinking Discovery Channel guy would say, Glassy-ear." Oh, Scrangie, you crack me up! Incidentally, I'm liking the nail polish as well. :)

  31. I quite like Hue Thrill Me.
And I looove how Bear Grylls says glacier...I love how he says everything, really. Like vitamin. *swoons*

    Thanks for all the swatches!
