Comparison: SpaRitual It's Raining Men vs. Orly Sky Blue Pink

It just dawned on me what that Meow Skeptic shadow reminds me of- Orly Sky Blue Pink!

I don't know if I've ever posted that color here... It's an old one but it's really, really pretty.

I was getting ready to edit some of those China Glaze photos so I was trying to clear out all the pictures I hadn't edited yet, and this comparison was one of them! Yes... it has been open and unedited for months... that's how far behind I've gotten. Yikes! I mean, when did I take these pictures, January or something? O_o

Anyway, the reason I did the comparison was that while I was swatching my Orly collection, I noticed that a lot of the SpaRituals I had in the same drawer seemed identical to Orlys... and you know what? They were. This is one of them:

Index and ring finger: SpaRitual It's Raining Men
Middle and pinkie finger: Orly Sky Blue Pink

Very slight differences in formula and intensity, but still the same color. I'm sure Sky Blue Pink has received a formula update since I bought my ancient bottle, but mine's very thin and needed four coats. I did four coats of the SpaRitual too, just to be even. The SpaRitual seemed more opaque. I might have to pick up a new formula bottle of Sky Blue Pink one of these days to see if they thickened it at all.

And this is what reminded me:

It's totally the same color! Periwinkle blue with a really strong pink-gold duochrome! Sweeeeeeet. I love when I have an eyeshadow the same color as an awesome nail polish.

  4. Sky blue pink is one of my favorite colors. I have the old formula too that is filled with the formaldehyde goodness. My fingers smell like a highschool science class when I use that color. But I may have to get "skeptic" because I absolutely love the color effect.
Thanks for this blog. You're amazing.

  5. Friggin' gorgeous polish... es, heh. Reminds me of Misa Radiant but with a pink flash instead of yellow. I love soft duochromes like this!

  7. Love the colours. The name of the Orly made me think of an old pyschedelic song called "Dimond Mine" where the singer raved about Purple Shafts, Rubby Lipped Lizards, Blue Winged Bats and the Land of Lavender and Sky Blue Pink. Call me crazy but I would probably buy a polish called Ruby Lipped Lizard but I'll settle for Sky Blue Pink!

  8. The polish is pretty - I had a color like that once that I loved, but it got tossed before I knew about thinner. I'm glad I can "replace" it! Your eye shadow is so pretty. *jealous*

  12. Totally OT, but as I recall you really like Too Faced's Galaxy Glam shadows - and they are on sale at the TF website for $3 each. Thought you might like to know (if you didn't already)...

  14. Love that shade. The eye shadow is beautiful. Reminds me of the sky in Heaven. Not that I've seen it! It's what I imagine. Maybe shadow a fashionable angel would wear!

  15. Beautiful! Must have eyeshadow (and polish). What's the eyeshadow called? And who makes it?

  16. Two of my fave polishes. I had a Tea polish in the exact same color from ages ago that got gunky so I was too happy when I saw these dupes. 8)
