Konad Coraline Kit B and ATTACK OF THE BUBBLED POLISH

Okay, I'm going to warn you ahead of time: my polish looks horrible. Remember when I complained about the humidity ruining my Illamasqua? Now you get to see what I was talking about! It was hot and humid and I applied my polish near the air conditioning vent because I was so hot... and this is what happened.

But then I thought I could cover it up with Konad! Well... not quite... but I did get a few pictures out of it. And instead of removing all my polish, re-applying and waiting for it to dry after each set of Konad pictures, I removed just the Konad design. So, please, ignore the smudgy, bubbled polish.

Anyway. Konad Coraline Kit B. Here's a picture of it from Konad's website:

The kit includes four image plates (CO2, CO3, CO4, CO6), three full-size Special Polishes (Psyche Pink, Yellow, Blue Pearl) and a special purple stamp and metal scraper.

Plate CO2 with Yellow special polish. Flowers, a cat with a funny tail, boots, a squiggly heart that looks like the Smashing Pumpkins logo, Coraline saying "talk to the hand", Coraline saying, "wtf?", another flower.

Plate CO3 with Psyche Pink special polish. A Dragonball, pissed-off Coraline, a worried or surprised-looking Coraline, a dragonfly, a Scottie dog silhouette, a seated Coraline in a raincoat?, Coraline doing the 'mime stuck in a box' thing.

Plate CO4 with Blue Pearl special polish. A Key, Coraline saying, "Oh &*^*&%!!", Coraline looking to the side and holding something, Coraline looking to the left and smiling, a beach ball looking thing, a crooked bat, creepy grabby hands.

Plate CO6 with Yellow special polish. Creepy grabby hands french tip, flowers made of paperclips french tip, Button-and-crossbones french tip (Jolly Tailor?), squares french tip, leaves/hearts/Smashing Pumpkins logo french tip, swirly french tip.

All of these images transfer very nicely onto the nails- crisp lines, no missing parts of the design, good size. The special polishes in this one rock. They're opaque and interesting.

Now, I have not seen the movie Coraline, nor have I read the book, so I don't know the meaning behind any of these images. I'm assuming the animals have names, and the poses Coraline is doing are from scenes in the movie.

This is a really cool set, lots of really fun designs. My personal favorites are the dragonfly, the boots, the scottie dog and the flowers. I thought I would like the bat the best, but it doesn't look too much like a bat on the nails, just kinda... squiggly?

Set A is even cooler than this one, so stay tuned for that.

  6. I need to finish out my collection, so I have decided to ask YOU for help. I have already found my 3 missing eggs, all severly cracked. I was truly devastated when I saw them in that state. Next, I found my old Goat milk,
it was rotten, and mold was gathering inside. This made me even more devastated, and I went into a servere state of depression. After this, I went on my search for my bread loaf, from all the way back in 1972. Ahhhh, the Bliss Train was born in that time. I looked in the attic, all of my treasured items calling me to stare, but I didnt dare look at my past, only my future. I found the second to last thing on my list, and now Im ready for the 4th final object. My 4th of july Funnel Cake from when I was a small child. Do you know where I can find it?
I can't wait to discover them.

  10. I love the little bat!
I tried to freehand one and it looks horrid.
I really enjoyed the Coraline movie.
    Really cute!

  13. I like the idea of Konad plate without the usual flowers, swirls, and geometric patterns. It would be nice to get a plate with some "creepy" critters like bats, spiders, and rats. I had the opportunity to get Hot Topic's "fauxnad" kit and I passed on it. I regret that. I wish Hot Topic would bring it back.

  16. Your discriptions of Coraline are so funny! I saw the movie, so I knew what scenes the images were from... but your take was quite entertaining. ;)

(The one with her sitting, in a raincoat... that's a doll of her. Creeeepy!)

  21. I love all the Coraline Konad plates. Your nails looks funky with all those images. I like! I saw the movie last month and really enjoyed it. I realized where some of the images came from. I have to get these kits. It would be fantastic to have the Warner Brothers cartoon figures. I'd love to have Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck on my nails.

  23. Hehehe, the beachball-looking thing is a gearshift. Funny thing to make a nail design out of, huh?

  24. I always wanted this kit.
But the order would be too expensive to Portugal.
So i bought one konad kit and a plate that i love that has the halloween theme. I think it's M13.
    It's very kool too.

  25. This is the coolest thing--I love the french tips you did the best.

PS: Is it me, or is this comment thread particularly spam-arific?

  26. Scrangie-

YOU should see Coraline. You would love it. Seriously, it was better than Nightmare Before Christmas. The thing that dosn't quite look like a bat is a scottie dog with bat wings, which is why it almost looks like a bat. I am going to be Coraline for Halloween, my dog Sirius is going to be the black cat, and my dog Tonks is going to be the Corline doll (it is August after all, and time to start working on Halloween costumes). I HAD to have the Coraline plates when I saw them because I loved the move SO much. I read the book AFTER I saw the move because I didn't want the diferences to ruin the movie for me and I would suggest the same thing

  27. Jodie_ox, haha you're welcome!

Kae, I love that one too :)

    Dana, very, very cute!

Rachel, lol South Park nails! I hear they're working on getting a Hello Kitty or similar style desing

    Gildedangel, you're welcome!

Shibong Quisha, oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! I believe you'll find it in the left ear of the elderly man riding the antelope. I think that's where I saw it last. Or maybe it was in Guam? (I love you Shibong Quisha!!!!)

Phyrra, I'm going to have to see it then!

The Home Spa Goddess, haha thank you, you are too kind!

    Adorepink, hehe thank you :)

Deb, I AGREE!!!! That would rock! The other Coraline kit has a froggie :D Though, don't feel too bad about the Hot Topic kit. I have never been able to get it to work, even after removing the plastic film (lol oops). The images won't come off the plate most of the time, and if they do they don't transfer all the way, boo!

    Anonymous, all of them!

Glockoma, I wanted to see it and never went, argh lol

Fauxfun, oh, thank you! I was wondering, it looked like it had buttons or something for eyes!

Shojo Flash, hehe me too! :D

    Anonymous, I totally will, thanks!

Christine, it seems like something I would like!

Makeup Central by Lyn, pretty cool!

    Lucy, haha thank you!

    Janice, thank you :)

Aaaamory, haha, seriously?? I would have never guessed! Thanks haha! :D

Trinca-Espinhas, from OC Nail Art they'll ship it anywhere in the world for free :)

Polly, you should see the comments I didn't let through! I've been getting a lot of spam lately- in Chinese! For bikini girl sites. WTF. lol

Sheila, oh, I can see that now that you mention it, that makes more sense! Thank you! And you have pets named Sirius and Tonks, ahhhhh!!! That's awesome!!
