More random swatches: China Glaze Edition!

YAY!

Here's a little bit of my China Glaze collection. They've done a lot of amazing colors over the years, and I'm really glad their new formula dries quickly now cause they're one of the most ballsy and creative brands when it comes to color.

In The Mood something to Green.... Might be Gold to Green? It's supposed to change colors but I've never been able to get it to change. That's totally okay cause I love the color it is right now!

Cross Iron 360. Man, the Ski collection was great. Every single color was amazing. This one is a flaming copper-orange with really cool shimmer that lights up like flames and a little bit of duochrome.

Crown Jewels. I think this is an older one and I can't remember ever wearing it other than to swatch it here. It's a light frosty purple.

Crystal Ball. Tell me, tell me where I'm going, I don't know where I've been... Tell me, tell me, won't you tell me and then tell me again... My heart is breaking, my body's aching and I don't know where to go.... Tell me, tell me won't you tell me, I just gotta know.... Crystal baaaaaaaaaaaaalllll! So many things I need to know! >.>;;

Dripping In Gold. Basic light gold frost/shimmer. Shimmery frost. I think there's a bit of gold microglitter in here too but it's not super visible.

Fairy Dust. Definitely not meant to be worn alone. I think this is like... 5 coats or something. Hahaha!

Gilded Treasures. Aw man, I see polish residue from the previous color under my pinkie and a giant globby smudge on my index. And my nails are all different shapes and lengths. No wonder I never posted this picture. Great color, though, sparkly microglittery light gold.

Golden Glamour. I don't know if I like this nail shape on me.

Hippie Chic. Old picture!! I do have a thumb! And uneven broken nails! But again, awesome color. Rosy red and pink with gold shimmer and duochrome.

Grape Crush. Mmm, holo glitter.

Frostbite. Scrangie tested, Abbath approved!

Yell-O-Neil. I like the color of this one but the formula was a nightmare. Really thick and glue-like. Needs thinner.

I'm Not Bitter. I think I must have broken at least two nails the day I was doing these swatches. The pinkie and index are really short and rounded, a shape I never do on purpose unless a nail broke in the corner. Huh. Why do I swatch with broken nails??

Ink. The Ink collection was SO GOOD. Was this 2008? 2008 was a great year for China Glaze collections. This was the nail art polish that came out in that collection. It has a teeny tiny skinny brush for doing nail art and it was a serious pain in the ass to paint my nails with it! Haha! But it 's a unique color, dark blue almost black. Creme finish.

Limonyte. So amazing. Again with the broken nails, though! China Glaze, for some reason, has discontinued this incredible unique neon green. They seriously need to bring this back!! One of my top three neon greens of all time! I haven't found an exact match for it in any other brand!

  3. Limonyte. Wow.
I have never seen anything else like it! Not saying I like it but I'd buy it for sure!

Can I ask a question on CG?
I only just got Watermelon Rind and love it. What other CG shades have got that precise formula with the sort-of glitter/sparkle but completely smooth? It's a heck of a polish.

  5. Ahhh - sigh - Your first swatch In the Mood Something Green - fabulous - I love that color and of course Limonyte - fabu! Your nails always look great. I'm having difficulty learning how to file mine correctly - I'm just now getting long nails again because of years of nail biting but I'm really having a time getting them filed right - your nails are always lovely!

  6. Grape Crush & Limonyte are now my newest lemmings .... /sigh. Just when I was getting my urges under control LOL!

Also - I have Fairy Dust & use it for layering, but I actually think those 5 coats look fabulous on you! It would be the perfect wedding mani, or if you had like an angel costume.

@jaljen - check out the rest of the collection, I think it was called Summer Days? Off the top of my head a few of the other colors are Strawberry Fields & Orange Marmalade =)

  28. Ugh I put Fairy Dust on almost every manicure I do. It's the best and it won't smudge Konad special polish either! I saw it in Sally's and it looks like it's not holo glitter anymore just silver :(

  29. LOL@you pointing out all your "broken nails". I STILL can't figure out what you're talking about - your nails on their worst day still look ten thousand times better than mine after I've fussed with them for two hours! This was such an awesome post - China Glaze is by far my fave brand! Thanks Scrangie!

  30. I hate neon greens... until now. Oh Limonyte, you have bred a massive lemming deep within me!

    ps,
Scrangie, you are the awesomest. :)

Hey, any idea where a girl could get her hands on some Nfu.Oh in Canada? I don't want to pay an arm and a leg (or two!) to ship it out from either Korea or Oz. So far no luck asking around here :( Hope you have a lead!

  41. Hey does anyone know where I can find China Glaze in NYC? I've been looking all over Manhattan for a couple of days now...

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Eve/New Yorkers,

I just went to a wholesale/retail store today called Fashion Nail Supply, just off of Queens Boulevard and Grand Avenue. It's right across the street from Raymore and Flannigan, next to near the Q59 stop, not Q58. They have the biggest collection of China Glaze I've ever seen -basically Sally's Beauty Supply's collection, times 4. Polishes are $5. They also sell Essie, and Color Club for $5. Hope this helped.

  43. I know a color from Essence that must be very close to that lime one....

  44. This is an old post, but the new Spoiled line's color "I'm So Jaded" is an exact match to "Limonyte" I don't usually go for neons, but this color is awesome.

  46. I would love to see Crown Jewels over black!!!! I have a neony green shimmer that looks a lot like Limonyte...actually I have two. One is Milani Gold Leaf and the other is Wet n Wild Jade. I duno if they are as bright as the CG but they are both bright green with a goldish shimmer and both are gorgeous!!! I just ran across another one....Milani Green Impressions...another bright green with goldish shimmer...so pretty!!
