Diamond Cosmetics Black Matte Shimmer

Diamond Cosmetics Black Matte Shimmer /Matte Black Shimmer / Who knows what it's called? Mine doesn't have a label. I'll have to look in the box to see if it fell off in there or something. Anyway, after being sorely disappointed in Diamond's Fall/Winter matte collection, I didn't have super high hopes for this. Fortunately, this was much better than I expected! I love it when that happens. This is a plain mid-black with a little metallic effect when worn matte. Very similar to ManGlaze's The Death Tar, but not as matte.

With topcoat added it's way better! It's similar again to The Death Tar in that it has that tiny holographic/multicolored/rainbow shimmer that only appears with topcoat.

I guess this was some sort of limited edition one-off or something? I heard that there were very few bottles made. Which is weird, cause it's a great color, way better than their other mattes. I don't actually know the whole story on this one.

And, I need to make another off-topic tangent at the end here.... Cause the pile in my inbox and on my desktop are starting to make me panic...

I'm trying to resume posting/swatching as usual and I'm also trying (and failing) to keep up with my emails but I'm totally overwhelmed. I haven't been able to catch up on email since the last time I posted about it and it's making me feel really bad. I have tons of pictures of (formerly) new collections waiting to be uploaded and edited. Just wanted to let you know, cause I don't mean to leave you hanging if you're waiting for swatches or replies.

  4. Scrangie, you don't owe us an explanation - please do not feel bad at all! I think you are awesome, and any posting you do, and the blog in general, should be for your pleasure, not to please others. Email is an evil medium, and I for one think you should just delete all the emails, and refuse to take any from now on. You don't owe us anything, and your faithful readers will love you no matter what you post! Hugs as always!

  8. Gorgeous Black! You need not give us any explanations. We know you get busy,or tired. Your nail blog is my number one favorite in the blogosphere of nail blogs. In fact, your blog and a few others, is what inspired me to start up my own nail blog. Your nails, and photography make the worst nail polish look fabulous. Take care, and take your time. We'll all still be here.

  9. Starry Night! It was released with a grey creme called Concrete Jungle as a January promotion. Looks beautiful on you! I didn't try this one without topcoat. I may need to revisit this shade. Love it matte!

It's nice to see you posting again. Please don't rush to deliver everything to us at once. Our brains might explode from awesomeness.

  17. Hi Scrangie,

Swatching and blogging should be a chore.
Do what you need to do when you need to do it.

  21. As several have written, please let go any feeling of expectations/duty/panic. The reason we visit your corner of the internet is to hear your unique voice, whenever you choose to share it. Email truly is the work of the devil (so are Facebook games, but that's another story). My father frequently just deletes everything out of his work email without regard to subject, person or supposed importance. He figures if it is REALLY important, they'll find him another way or wait for him to find them. So relax, put on some good music, have a nice drink (if you do), and when the spirit moves you to write go for it.

  22. Oh Scrangie, don't worry about replying. I do miss your responses, but I realize when you are as popular as you are it all becomes a little impossible to have a life and keep up with all of it. If it takes getting back into swatching reguarly a little slow, that's okay. I'd rather you still blog when you want to than for you to leave it behind. And as bajillions have said already, it should be fun not another job.
