A few more of the China Glaze glitters

I don't have them all yet, but here are a few more of the new China Glaze 'Specialty Collection' glitters... I love them.

Atlantis. This is kind of a medium blue-green/teal/aqua jelly base with lots of holographic glitter. I included a picture of it blurred to show just how sparkly the glitter in this is. For some reason, the blurrier the picture, the better the glitter sparkle shows! Anyway, Atlantis is my favorite so far. I love it. I've worn it the most out of all of them and I'm still not tired of it!

Cleopatra. This is a warmer/orangier gold than Medallion. It's a lot of tiny particles of golden and holographic glitter.

Medallion. A softer, more yellowy-beige gold than Cleopatra, lots of holographic glitter.

Nova. Super-sparkly silver holographic glitter. This one has some larger and smaller particles blended together. The effect is spectacular in the sunlight, even my blurred picture doesn't show just how sparkly it really is.

Like the others, these have a smooth formula that applies easily and dries in a reasonable amount of time. Not fast, but not as slow as the other China Glaze ones I've had trouble with before. These pictures are three coats. The glitter in these is definitely dense enough to be worn alone, but will also work as a glitter topcoat. These are a little gritty and really do need a coat of Seche Vite or other thick topcoat to make them smooth and glossy. Two coats of topcoat would be even nicer, but not necessary.

Still in love with all these new China Glaze glitters.... Will post more when I pick up the rest of them!

  1. How awful is the aftermath? (ie. the removal) I'm just too scared of trying to remove it to try them.

  2. Anonymous, they are a bit of a pain, but no worse than other glitters really... A big cotton ball totally soaked with Zoya Remove+ makes fairly quick work of them, though :) (Even though I'm guilty of peeling off the polish quite frequently!)

  3. These are so pretty, I think that I might pick up a couple!

  6. This is the first pic I have seen of Atlantis that I really like. I have seen Atlantis before but never really liked it. I actually didn't recognize it in your pic. I like your way of wearing them better.

I know everyone is raving over the new glitters but I'm not a fan. I like glitter usually so I don't know why this collection is so disappointing to me. I just don't see anything special I guess.

  10. Are these hard to take off?

Do you have a FAQ somewhere? Interested in how often you change your nail polish, what your favorite brand is, and what your all time favorite color is.

    Thanks!

  13. How would Nova compare to Color Club Magic Attraction?

Would love to see pix! On a tight budget and can't really afford to buy dupes (though I'd love too haha)

  17. I love the China Glaze glitters, but I can't get them off! They are so hard to remove that I actually didn't buy anymore of them for that reason. I really only wear polish on my toes and this was a real pain to remove!

  18. nice pics, I know what you mean about the blurry pics are better at showing glitter...i always have a hard time taking a pic of something glittery :)

I have been making a nail polish wish list for my bday and Atlantis will be at the top :)

  20. I'm not a glitter girl but your pics are beautiful - the blurred ones remind me of a lighted Christmas tree at night.

  21. Have you tried the Target acetone tub thing (Studio Tools). It takes glitters off in a snap for me (:

lol MUA calls it the "pink va-jay-jay"

  22. Wow, these are lovely. I must have Atlantis. Maybe Nova, too. Hmm.

  23. BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for including the "blurry" pics - they're gorgeous and they really do show the lovely sparkle so well. Wow. I can not get enough glitter polishes!

  24. I had a woman come into my bookstore wearing atlantis:
me (thinking): i bet that's cg atlantis
me (speaking out loud): i love your nail polish, what brand is it?
    woman: it's china glaze atlantis.
    me: oooh i love it!

i can't wait to wear it, it is such a unique and gorgeous color! i have worn nova (3 or 4 coats w/ 2 coats of topcoat) and it was AMAZING. so discotastic.

  25. I love these colors, but Im having a problem with them staying on!! Ive used them with a coat of sticky base and topped with seche vite. The very next day, they've peeled off!! Anybody else having problems?

  26. I have all of those, but untried! They look great on you... I am going to have to start trying them...

  27. Scrangie. Can you please do a review on OPI axxium gel polish. There are n't any good reviews with pictures out there. I change my polish 5 times a week. Just wondering if it is something for me. Thanks

  28. Atlantis is my favourite of all the ChG glitters. I had just done a pedicure with Atlantis when I came online and read your blog post!

  29. I find that glitters are easier to remove when I put them over a base coat of color (in addition to your standard protective base coat). For example, I put Atlantis over
DV8, and had no trouble removing it. Plus the combo was striking & the colors were similar enough that Atlantis' sheer glory still dominated! ;)

  30. Those are all so pretty especially the Atlantis colour!

  31. I just ordered Preppy Pink and some other polishes, but now ur making me want Atlantis and Nova aswell!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love the look of Atlantis, but as every CG glitter polish I've tried so far has peeled off or chipped within 24 hours of applying it (base coat, 2 coats of polish and top coat), I can't look at any more CG glitters at the moment. *sad face*

Those blurry photos are really good.

  33. I love these glitters! My favorite is Atlantis...try it over black, it is stunning :)

  34. Oh, just how gorgeous aren't these? Glitter heaven!!
Can't wait to see the rest of them; I'll probably be broke because of you, girl ;))

  35. I ordered the whole darn collection. I think I had temporary insanity. There's a few I probably wouldn't have bought if I saw them swatched. I've been waiting to see all the collections a few times before ordering. I think I went crazy with all of the bloggers tablking about these glitters. There are plenty that are gorgeous.

  36. I just picked up these glitters at Sally's not long ago and I love them. I didn't see Atlantis there (or it would've been the first one I grabbed) - but I got the other 3 mentioned and rocked Nova the same day. I got so many compliments on it all week!

Removal was a huge pain though - my drugstore brand remover did absolutely nothing, so I ended up peeling it off (bad idea). I didn't even think to try my Zoya Remove+.

  37. I neeeeed them all. Absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for your fantastic swatches!

    xoxo

  38. I NEED ATLANTIS! I'm worried that it may be too gritty and bumpy for me though :/ most of the china glaze glitters drive me crazy with their bumpyness, hahahah.

  39. Atlantis is f*(king amazing!!! I haven't seen a true capture of the color yet, but your blurred shot does a good job.
Here's a pic I took of it on me. I think it captures the color of the jelly base better than any I've seen and the glitter fairly well.
