China Glaze The Hunger Games Capitol Colors Collection Spring 2012 Swatches and Review

The China Glaze Capitol Colors Collection... or is it the Colors from the Capitol collection? My press materials say it both ways. This collection is based on the Hunger Games series and the release is supposed to coincide with the brand new Hunger Games film that's scheduled for March. The names of the polishes has changed since we first saw that leaked image, but the colors are still the same. They are:

China Glaze Agro. An amazing leafy olive green shimmer. It has a semi-foil finish and really impressive depth of color. If you look closely, you can see that the metallic shimmer particles are all different colors. It dries a little darker than it looks in the bottle, but the glowy finish keeps the color looking bright.

China Glaze Dress Me Up. This is an odd one. It's a dusty, dirty warm rose creme. It has a little peach and a little brown in it and the finish is very dense and creamy. It's a rather mature looking color and it doesn't feel like it goes with the rest of the collection.

China Glaze Electrify. A gold and red glitter mix in a clear base. It's like a chunkier, redder cousin to Nicole Glitter in my Stocking. The red and gold look like they're about 1:1 in here. Maybe a *little* more gold. But they look pretty even.

China Glaze Fast Track. A light taupe creme base with flaky gold shimmer. This is a lot like Essence Irreplaceable, and like a lighter, less brown version of China Glaze Ingrid. The gold flecks look amazing in the dusty greyed base.

China Glaze Foie Gras. A dusty purple brown creme. It dries a lot darker than it looks in the bottle, but still retains a bit of the dusty looking finish.

China Glaze Harvest Moon. Wow. I mean... wow. Speechless. This is a super shiny metallic copper shimmer. It's not as dense as a foil but it's not chunky like glitter. The shimmer particles are iridescent and shift colors when they light hits them. You can see little flashes of red and orange and gold in it. I think this is my favorite in the collection, but I could be biased due to the name, because I really love this:

China Glaze Hook and Line. This is a super frosty light grey. The application on this one is not nice and it's extremely streaky and shows every flaw in my nails. Once it dries, the color looks okay... But I really can't say I'm a fan of the brushstroke-ridden frost finish.

China Glaze Luxe and Lush. A chunky mylar flake glitter in a clear base. It's a pastel-opal type duochrome finish. Each flake and chunk is a different shape and size and reflects pink, blue, green and gold. It's similar to Color Club Covered in Diamonds, but a lot smoother, easier to apply and with smaller chunks.

China Glaze Mahogany Magic. This is a warm olive-tinged medium brown creme. I like how creamy and glossy it looks, but there's just something kinda... fecal... about it. It's that yellow undertone and the touch of olive in it. Sorry! Sorry. I know. That's gross. And this is coming from someone who loves colors like OPI And Apple Pie. I don't think I have the right skin tone to pull off this shade of brown. Someone olive toned would probably look great in this.

China Glaze Riveting. Did I already say that Harvest Moon was my favorite? I did. But this one is a close second. It looks like fire. It's a bright, saturated red-orange jelly base with lots of large gold metallic shimmer. It's not quite a flake shape, but not really a glass fleck, either. The shimmer sits nicely in the jelly base and glows like embers. It's amazing. It also reminds me of an old China Glaze I have, but I can't remember the name...

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes. This one has a very dark base. I can't tell if it's pure black, or if it's a nearly-black blue-green shade. It seems to have a blue-green tint to it to my eye, but that might just be coming from all the shimmer. Anyway, Smoke and Ashes is loaded with a blue-green-gold duochrome shimmer. It changes colors depending on the angle. It's very interesting in person, a lot more complex than it looks here. Definitely worth seeing for yourself if you get the chance.

China Glaze Stone Cold. A matte! I wasn't expecting that. It's a dark grey base with large silver shimmer. It looks near-black after it dries. More grey-ish if you use topcoat to make it glossy. Gorgeous application on this one. Very smooth and opaque. And I like the name.

Luxe and Lush is pretty cool all by itself, but I wanted to see how well it layered with other colors, so here's a couple combos I tried:

China Glaze Luxe and Lush (one coat) over China Glaze Riveting.

China Glaze Luxe and Lush (one coat) over China Glaze Stone Cold.

The formula on these was not so good. I found most of these to be very gloopy and runny yet thick at the same time, like early three-free polish formulas used to be. Not all of them were weird; some of them applied perfectly. Stone Cold, Smoke and Ashes and Riveting had perfect formula, not runny or drippy at all. The others felt thick and sort of oily or fluffy feeling. Just be careful to remove all the excess polish from the brush and stem, apply thin coats and wait a couple minutes in between coats and you'll be fine. The colors all have great coverage. I did two coats of each and that's all they needed. I didn't have any bubbling with these and the dry time was only marginally longer than average China Glaze dry time.

I don't really know anything about the Hunger Games trilogy (I haven't read it! Shame!), so I don't know how well these go with the theme of the series, but the colors are nice regardless. Well, most of them. I can't say I like Dress Me Up, Hook and Line or Mahogany Magic, but the rest are great. I love Harvest Moon, Riveting, Agro, Fast Track, Smoke and Ashes and Luxe and Lush. At least there are more cool colors than bland ones. But, I'm sure fans of the series will probably want the entire set anyway, right?

This collection will be available at salons and retail stores like Sally Beauty and Ulta starting in early March.

  1. Oh oh oh! Can't wait to get my hands on Agro, Harvest Moon and Riveting! I've been drooling over those ever since the sneak peek picture and they don't disappoint as swatches either! I absolutely adore Harvest Moon, definite favorite! Must... get... How oh how do I survive until March without them? :D

  2. Yay! I've been waiting to see swatches of these. I'm a big Hunger Games fan. The name of the collection is a little odd because people from The Capitol wear really bright loud colors and have rainbow colored hair, tattoos and skin. But the colors themselves are fitting for the settings in the book. I like all of the same ones you do, I've gotta get Harvest Moon!

  3. I really like Fast Track. Great swatches as usual ;0).

  4. Oh my God, this collection is amazing! I wasn't sure about some of the colors but I really want Electrify, Smoke and Ashes, Luxe and Lush, Agro, Stone Cold, Fast Track, and Riveting. I'm glad I've been saving my money up for this one. Thank you so much for the review and swatches!

  6. Is Agro a dupe for Peace on Earth, from the 2010 Holiday collection? They look very similar.

    1. I was just about to ask the same thing, and also how it compares to Wagon Trail and OPI's At Your Quebec & Call.

    2. I had the same exact thought! I snagged Peace on Earth from my Sally's clearance bin and I love it.

  7. Wow, so fast! I am definitely looking forward to seeing these in person, but it's a bummer that some of them are gnarly to work with. Lame. The three cremes and the frosty grey one are the least interesting to me-- the rest look awesome!

  8. harvest moon, mahogany magic and stone cold are my favorites from this collection!

    thanks for the swatches. :)

  9. Hmmm, The colours look okay although I'm slightly disappointed with the name changes. Harvest moons looks like it has the most promise. Hook and Line just looks plain horrid.

  10. I wanna get Agro. And that's the only shade that really makes me wanna say - pretty and it could look good on me. For the rest- meh. I'm kind of disappointed by this collection.

  13. I love China Glaze and loved the Hunger Games series, but I do not love these polishes. To me, this looks like a fall collection. :/ Anyway, thank for the beautiful swatches as always! :)

  14. Oh my glaze, just the most gorgeous swatches, I really want that weird pink Dress Me Up. And Fast Track. And do I ever want Stone Cold! And is it weird I want Hook and Line? I think it looks like brushed chrome, it's fabulous. Sigh. Not liking the sound of the formula though. :-) x

  15. I didn't want to like these (I won't be reading the Hunger Games - I've already seen Battle Royale) but these are freakin HOT colours. I might need to pick some of these up.

  16. Riveting. Period. It glows. I love it.

  17. I was going to pass up this collection, since I don't know a single thing about Hunger Games, but now I have decided that I need all of these... well, at least Agro, Fast Track, Riveting, and Harvest Moon. Riveting and Harvest Moon... wow, just wow!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Eeeeeee! I love Agro, and Fast Track! Sadly I think Harvest Moon would look dreadful on me, and oh Hook and Line... what a shame. I'm intrigued by Smoke and Ashes – might have to take a gamble on it.

How does Stone Cold compare to Orly's Iron Butterfly?

    1. It's similar! I haven't worn Iron Butterfly in a while, but from memory, Stone Cold is lighter. Slightly less matte, too.

Scratch that, I want them all <3

  24. I loved The Hunger Games trilogy (I decided to read it after I know about China Glaze polishes, here in Italy it's not famous at all). Thank you for great swatches...Riveting, Harvest Moon, Smoke and Ashes are the ones I prefer. I agree on Mahogany Magic, but as I have a slightly olive undertone I think I could like it on me It's to shiny!). The only one I just don't understand is the frosty grey.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love Agro and Harvest Moon! Luxe and Lush looks pretty layered as well. Dress Me Up was originally named after the character Primrose, so you can kind of see how that color came about.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Your descriptions sometimes really crack me up! Never change, okay?

I'd have to get Harvest Moon just for the name. I too LOVE the game. Agro, Fast Track and Smoke & Ashes look like must haves, too.

  27. I think I may need Harvest Moon for the same reason you do! Love that game xx

  32. Hmm... not my collection at all :< But well.. saving money is nice :D

I think I need Smoke and Ashes and maybe Riveting... (lets see how I will end up buying more polishes :D)

And since the first information about this collection leaked... the gamer in me wants Harvest Moon so badly! :D

  33. I've been waiting for these for so long now, and even though your swatches are top notch these polishes just don't blow me away like I thought they would. Will still get a few of these, I guess that is a good thing for my wallet ;)

  34. I will probably get hate mail on this but I haven't read the Hunger Games and probably won't. That said, these are some stunning colors! I don't think I'll get them all but I'll get most of them. Gotta get Smoke and Ashes, for real!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. So many of these are gorgeous! I'll definitely have to get my hands on this collection.

  36. I haven't read the hunger games, but after hearing all the hype about this collection I bought it for my e-reader... having said that I'm a little underwhelmed, I was expecting a brighter collection I guess. This all seems a little grown-up.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thank you for these swatches!! Definitely was not expecting a matte polish either. Harvest Moon, Smoke and Ashes, Agro, and Fast Track, oh my! Lovelovelove.

I wonder if Stone Cold is basically the same as putting a matte top coat over CG Haunting? There seems to be 8 million of that black/charcoal-with-silver-shimmer colors, and as cool as the matte looks, I don't know if I could justify getting THAT one.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I bet it is the same. You're right, there are a ton of them, I'm sure you could either make a matte dupe with one you already own!

  48. Yay! So glad to see your swatches! I just read the Hunger Games recently and love it, so I'm excited for this collection. It looks more like fall than spring to me and I'm a little supprised that some of the names don't have anything to do with the series. Oh well. I like Riveting, Fast Track and Dress Me Up. Especially Riveting!
BTW, is that Harvest Moon screenshot from Back To Nature? I have that one and love it. :3

    1. Just thought I would clarify for you. The names of each polish pertains to each district and what the district does.

Luxe and Lush – District 1 (Luxury)
Stone Cold – District 2 (Masonry)
      Riveting – District 3 (Technology)
Hook and Line – District 4 (Fishing)
      Electrify – District 5 (Power)
Fast Track – District 6 (Transportation)
Mahogany Magic – District 7 (Lumber)
Dress Me Up – District 8 (Textiles)
Harvest Moon – District 9 (Grain)
Foie Gras – District 10 (Livestock)
      Agro – District 11 (Agriculture)
Smoke and Ashes – District 12 (Mining)

I hope this helped you understand the names of some polishes in the collection better! (:

  49. A few in this collection will come my way - but many are tired and tried. I don't get the inspiration of any cohesion at all in this collection - but actually that's OK with me. I am getting tried of here are all the dusty pastels we came up with - or here are the 'theme shades' the collection name conjured up. It's like of like old age release of colors where they just put em out there, no rhyme or reason between the shades correlating (talking the early to mid 80s). My picks are Harvest Moon, maybe Fast Track - but it (sans the gold) reminds me of that taupe shade Night Owl from Orly last fall. Hate Electrify - holiday polish is so silent in my life now...and this is really close to the Nicole as you pointed out. Kind of sad as these first 2 releases this year from CG are a let down to me. I adored Anchors Away right off the bat last year and continue to love it today.

  50. Wow, these are beautiful. I was only interested in one or two when I saw the promo shots, your swatches have changed all that! :) My hubby always refers to any brown polish as "poo nails" so I definitely will NOT be getting Mahogany Magic, LOL.

  51. All I have to say is GIMME GIMME! I love almost all of these, Riveting the most. Glad I'm saving my money not buying anything from the Spring collections this year!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I kind of want to boycott these polishes because of the name changes, they just don't make sense any more. Honestly I like Stone Cold kind of and Riveting is ok. Mahogany Magic is pretty revolting to me, maybe it's just memories of my brother being a baby or something...

    1. I haven't read hunger games, but I've read a lot about the hunger games nail polish, and I've seen in a couple places that the names/colors are after the twelve districts. I have no idea what that means, but it made sense when I read it, and maybe it makes more sense to someone who has actually read the booka :)

    3. I know that's what they're -supposed- to be, but it's still reaching. The old ones were more indicative of important moments and people in the book. For instance the reference to Cinna is now gone. How do you do a nail polish (beauty) collection and have nothing to do with the heart of fashion in the entire series?

      Delete
    4. I completely agree. The book makes you hate some of the districts and the capitol anyways..I'd much rather wear a Cinna or Peeta inspired nail polish. That being said I do think that it is interesting that China Glaze did something different from picking corny names based on characters and events.

      Delete
    5. It's not China Glaze's fault. I think Lionsgate was pissed about trademark issues or something.

    7. I totally agree. The old names rocked! I don't see why they had to change the names if they decided to go ahead with collection after all that drama. nonsense! :(

  53. Not to jazzed about this collection as a whole, but I have to say your description of Mahogany Magic had me cracking up. Any desire for that polish has been flushed down the toilet (please pardon the pun).

  56. I'm not into these colors at all, especially for spring. Maybe it's because I haven't read the books and I'm already sick of the hype.

  60. Riveting look a lot like CG Orange Pacific which may be the color you were referring to in the comment. Would love feedback on how these relate if you have orange pacific :]

    ReplyDelete
  61. HAHAHA! I love your comments about Mahogany Magic...they were my first thoughts too! I am intrigued by the COLOR of Hook and Line but the frost does make me cringe a little.
I am glad to read your description of Luxe and Lush as it compares to CC CiD, since they seemed really similar to me at first look. I'm all for easier to apply!
I like Fast Track a lot, but would like it even more if it were more pink than taupe, but either way, it's a favorite for me. Smoke and Ashes is interesting too. I need to see these in the bottle in front of me...not sure I have to have any of them.

  63. *shriek* Agro makes me think of Street Wear's Toad, which may be my favorite polish ever. I wish I could go back in time and smack college-age me for throwing my bottle out when it got goopy.

Harvest Moon is gorgeous too and so is Riveting. But Agro makes me want to write its name on my notebook along with little hearts.

Thank you so much, Scrangie, for taking the time to swatch all these colours. I know that it's so much work! :) Greatly appreciated!

Time to save up for these!

  83. Fast Track is my favourite but I have the Essence colour. YAY!!! Im saving some money!!
The whole collection is stunning IMHO CG never disappoints!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I must say I'm a wee bit disappointed with these. :/ I think some of them looked better in the promo picture. I was mostly interested in Agro and Fast Track, but Agro is darker than in the promo picture (I might still get it though) and Fast Track isn't as pretty as Orly Night Owl. Meh!

I'll definitely get Luxe and Lush though! I like how it seems to be more subtle than the other flakies out there. I love the flashing rainbow effect the regular flakies give but it feels a tiny bit childish when working in an adult environment. :P

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's definitely a different type of flake, too. These aren't flat pieces so they have a very different effect. It's pretty cool, but you have to like texture to like it :)

  86. The color scheme really suits the book, especially if you look at the original names and their inspirations. Riveting and Harvest Moon are gorgeous.

I wish people would stop whining about the name changes like it's China Glaze's fault, when it looks like they were forced into it by the studio.

  88. I loved The Hunger Games but I'm a bit underwhelmed by this collection :( Most of the colors are just blah or overdone. Mehhh. MM is just horrid! I was definitely all excited about Lux and Lush, but from the bottle pics I thought it was a light blue base with copper flakies *drools* not a dupe for CC Covered in Diamonds ... which I already own thanks to your bewitching swatching! >.< so yeah, I may be getting nothin'!

  90. Beautiful swatches but the collection itself is... meh :( So disappointed. Where are all the cool tones? Warm tones rarely look good on me so seeing almost an entire collection of warm tones makes me want to weep. I reckon I'll only get Smoke and Ashes.

  91. I am so excited for these and yet so jealous of the American residents who get to buy them as soon as they come out. Silly Australianess of mine. xx

  92. I think this may be my favorite China Glaze collection since I've started collecting polish. I've got six on my definite list and another two or three on my maybe list. And I seriously want Harvest Moon just so I can wear it before the release of every new Harvest Moon games. XD I have most of the ones released for the DS and one for the Gamecube and one for the GBA.

    Gorgeous swatches. Thanks!

  93. The four polishes that stand out to me most are Fast Track, Harvest Moon, Stone Cold, and Smoke and Ashes. Agro is running close behind them. I can’t wait for these to come out. I have a feeling I’m going to be stalking my Sally’s waiting for them.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Thanks so much for the swatches!

Harvest Moon and Agro are the ones that I might buy, but I'm not super impressed by the collection.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Oh Scrangie...as usual until I saw your swatches I was convinced I needed NOTHING from this collection. Dang magic swatch fingers. I LOVED harvest moon (The game) too!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yeah!! Harvest Moon, the game and the polish, are awesome!

  96. Scrangie, I know I've already commented once (sorry), but I just wanted to ask you if riveting is similar to orly emberstone? maybe you could do a comparison, pretty please ?
    thankyouuu ;)

    1. I don't think they're dupes, but they're definitely similar types! Riveting is brighter and has more orange to it, Emberstone has a little more of a pinkish/coralish tone. Emberstone is a glass fleck and Riveting is gold metallic shimmer. You probably don't *need* both, but if I had to pick, I'd go with Riveting cause it's brighter and has a better dry time :)

    2. thankyouu for replying ! I've got emberstone coming to me in a swap but I lovee riveting so I'll probably have to get that as well loll !
      thankyouuu : )

I can't wait for your next swatches. The swatches are all pretty as usual and I love Fast Track. :)

  98. I love these!!!!!!! Amazing swatches, I'm so glad someone did these!! Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. I LOVE Harvest Moon! I saw swatches on another blog and wasn't impressed with it, but your swatch makes me want it. I like Fast Track as well. I can't wait for these to come out!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Thanks for this post! It's the first time I see these colors on nails so I'm excited! I can't wait for the movie and the nail polishes to come out! I will definitely buy Stone Cold and Riveting.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Yes some&ashes will be mine as well as argo! such a pretty green color and i normally dont care for greens.

    ReplyDelete
  102. So dissapointed with this collection!! I am a huge Hunger Games fan and the polish names have NOTHING to do with the book, and the colors dont match the book that well to boot. They could have done so many amazing things with this collection but it was such a flop! I wonder if they people who made these polishes even bothered to see the book? China Glaze should be embrassed...

    ReplyDelete
  103. Thank you so much for these swatches! I love The Hunger Games! And like other blogger wrote, your swatches are the best ones.
Too bad they had to change the names of the polishes.

I will definitely be buying Dress me Up (originally called Primrose), Fast Track (Catnip/Katniss), Riveting (Rire in Flight/Flaming Mockingjay/also Peeta's favorite color, orange), Harvest Moon (Cina-Mon/Cinna's gold eyeliner), Electify (Heat of the Moment/costumes that Katniss and Peeta wear into the arena) and Luxe and Lush (Flaming Gems/Katniss' interview dress).

So, if you look at the previous names, all the colors make a lot of sense. Can't wait!!!

    ReplyDelete
  104. My top four --
    1. Electrify
    2. Riveting
    3. Harvest Moon
    4. Agro

This post was so massive I had to switch to the laptop to comment -- it was freezing up my iPad!

  106. I'm so excited for these colors! They're so awesome! Thank you for the great swatches!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Definitely excited for Smoke and Ashes and a few of the neutrals. REALLY disappointed in Electrify and Luxe and Lush. They're totally not what I was expecting from the earlier palettes. Great swatches, though!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Riveting is BY FAR my favorite!!!! Hook and Line and Mahogany magic are probably the only ones I won't be getting.

    ReplyDelete
  109. fast track reminds me of zoya jules. and despite the application problems you talked about, im buying them. lol. NAIL POLISH ADDICT WHOOOO

    ReplyDelete
  110. Can you top coat the matte??? I would love to see it shiny!

    ReplyDelete
  111. "Riveting" looks a lot like Orly's "Emberstone", which I love. More orange, maybe? I have to get "Fast Track". I'm intrigued by this collection.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Okay I'm like dying here lol. They need to come out like right now.

Amazing Beauty Supply is selling these as pre order right now, but has anyone actually ordered from this site before?

    ReplyDelete
  113. I want them all except three! Even the poopoo color!

    ReplyDelete
  114. I now know which ones I'll be getting, thanks for swatching and sharing!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Lovely collection! Although, I feel like it is very silly to make nail polish off a movie but it is so strange looking at this collection and thinking 'The Hunger Games' automatically. Beautiful colors and your cuticles always looks perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Wow your swatches make me want them all! But I have to agree with the majority here...Harvest Moon is really nice! Then Argo for me. I have been looking for the "perfect" copper polish as of late and I hope this will be it. I'd be happy to hear any other recommendation for a copper penny type of color! Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  117. Thanks for the swatches! Been wanting to see these. fast track, electrify, smoke and ashes, riveting, and luxe and lush are so pretty! adding them to my shopping list =)

    ReplyDelete
  118. Ooh. I'll be picking up some of these - definitely Riveting, Electrify and Agro, maybe Harvest Moon, Smoke and Ashes, Foie Gras and Fast Track. I think I can skip Stone Cold because I have Orly Iron Butterfly, which is close enough for me. The collection does feel out-of-season, but I still like the majority of these colors. I didn't see the first set of names so I can't comment on whether or not the final names make more sense.

As for the Hunger Games, I'm about halfway through the trilogy right now. It's alright, there are things I don't like about it, but I'm chalking the majority of that up to the fact that it's a YA series and I'm a few years out of that demographic. There are also enough differences going on that it doesn't feel like a watered-down Battle Royale to me, which was my fear when I started reading the first book.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Harvest Moon, Argo, Riveting, and Smoke and Ashes for the WIN! Thanks for sharing great swatches!

  120. I don't know if this is one of the hundreds of questions above me...but is Fast Track a dupe for All Hail the Queen (BL)? it looks pretty similar to me...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think All Hail The Queen is holo, isn't it? I don't have it to compare, but I'm pretty sure they're not similar. From pictures I've seen, the Butter London one is holo and more of a darker taupe than Fast Track.

      Delete
    2. Hi, I have it and would say it is not a dupe. Comparing it to Scrangie's pics of Fast Track I would say, All hail the Queen looks a bit lighter and cooler and has holo glitter.

  121. My fiance ordered the whole collection for me online. Should have it in a week. Can't wait to get my hands on these. I loved the books. Each one of these colors represents each district in Panem.

  122. It's available for pre-order at Hot Topic NOW (ship date est 2/22) and there's a 15% off coupon on my blog if you care to find it. (Don't want to link-drop here).

GORGEOUS and I haven't even read the books (yet! yet! I plan on it, really!)

  128. I always love your reviews. When ever I'm googling reviews for any particular nail polish color, your blog always comes up. Good job. ;)

    Anyway, your nails are gorgeous!

I absolutely love this line of colors and want them ALL! Well, mostly b/c I'm a huge fan of The Hunger Games. So far, I've bought Stone Cold, Hook and Line, Electrify, Mahogany Magic, Dress Me Up, Harvest Moon and Foie Gras. From what I've seen, Harvest Moon might be my favorite, but I have yet to try them. Electrify looks very nice, but glitter can be a bit of a pain in the butt to remove. Did you have any problems removing it from your nails?

Anyone going to the midnight premier? What color will you be wearing? I don't even know. I might experiment and come up with my own "Girl on Fire" nails. <3

    1. Thanks so much! I didn't have any problems that were unusual- really, the same as removing any other glitter (a pain in the butt, but not too bad), nothing out of the ordinary!

  129. I just wanted to let you all know that I went to my Sally's today and they had all the colors in stock!!! I bought 5 of them - Smoke & Ashes, Luxe & Lush, Riveting, Agro, and Fast Track!! I immediately put Luxe & Lush over the polish I was already wearing haha. So excited about these! May have to go back for some of the others in the collection!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Would you say that Man Glaze Fuggen Ugly is a good dupe for Stone Cold? I think Stone Cold looks awesome, but since I already have Fuggen Ugly I'd rather not get something too similar.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Would you say that ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly is a pretty close dupe for Stone Cold? Since I already have Fuggen Ugly, I'd rather not buy Stone Cold if they're too similar.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I'd say no- the shimmer in Stone Cold is a lot bigger and only silver. It's closer to Orly Iron Butterfly

    ReplyDelete
  133. After days of walking past the display I finally got Harvest Moon and Riveting. I've been wearing Riveting and decided to put Cracked Medallion over it when I found it in Sallys discount bin ($1.99 yay!). It looks amazing! If it wasn't for your swatches I would have kept walking by the display. Thanks for your time and effort!

  134. I bought half the collection this week. it's all your fault ;) well, okay, not ALL your fault: Sally's had that blasted "buy two get one" deal they knew I couldn't possibly resist...

    so I'm thinking Luxe & Lush looks like it might be a dupe (or maybe just a "horseshoe") for my Nubar 2010, but I don't care, haha. I also bought Smoke & Ashes, Agro, Riveting (was worried this one might be a dupe for Orly's Emberstone; it's not, YAY!), Harvest Moon, and Electrify. my wallet is whimpering in a corner, but my inner fangirl is happily planning which one to wear first—decisions, decisions…! {G}

  137. Hi, Would you say that Fast Track is a dup of Butter London's All Hail The Queen? They seem so similar. I've got the BL AHTQ ob now & can't bear to take it off.

    1. Nope! All Hail The Queen is a warm beige with holo, Fast Track is light and creamy beige-taupe with gold sparkle :)

  138. Hi, I was wondering is there a dupe for Harvest Moon (From OPI or China Glaze), cause it is sold out in where I live before I had a chance to laid my hands on it, sigh...

    ReplyDelete
  139. I wish Riveting was as beautiful as it looks in the picture. Except for the glass fleck finish, I already have three colors exactly like it: Sinful "Courtney Orange", Sally Hansen "Die-Hard Fan", and Spoiled "Orange You Glad". I ordered it online, and was massively disappointed.

  141. Honestly, I am kinda upset. The names are different, and honestly, I kinda like the other ones better. I can do a switch over and all, ya know, since I kinda like them more...
Dress Me Up - Primrose (Made after Primrose Everdeen)
Foie Gras - Rebel (Made after Gale Hawthorne)
Fast Track - Catnip (Made after Gale's nickname for Katniss Everdeen)
Hook and Line - Coal Hearted (Made after District 12)
Stone Cold - Joined at the Seam (Made after the Seam)
Smoke and Ashes - Fight to the Finish (Made after the night sky that the tributes had to look at every night)
Agro - We Could Runaway (Made after the forest Gale and Katniss hunt in)
Mahogany Magic - Baker's Son (made after Peeta)
Harvest Moon - Cinna-mon (made after Cinna's gold eyeliner)
Riveting - Fire in Flight (Made after the Flaming Mockingjay pin)
Ectifying - Heat of the Moment (inspired by Katniss and Peeta's costumes going into the games)
Lux and Lush - Flaming Gems 'Over lay (made after Katniss' interview dress)
But then again, they are also inspired by the districts without their names that I perfer, but these are okay names if you put then as District-wise =)
