RZK Mani

Speaking of Rammstein, my last post reminded me- I originally wasn't going to post this because it was just something I did for fun, but seeing how it's Richard's birthday today, I figure why not pay nail-polish-homage to our favorite manicured guitarist. Just because I'm a devoted Olli Admirer doesn't mean I can't pay tribute to one of the other six captains when it's their birthday...

I used OPI Black Onyx and Essie First Dance for this mani. I had left them sitting out on my desk after swatching and I was trying to decide what to wear as my 'real' mani for the day, so this was born. This is just my little tribute to how RZK seems to be wearing his nails lately:

(None of these photos belong to me and I claim no ownership of them. However, I don't know who to credit for them, so if any of these belong to you, please let me know so I can credit you or remove if desired!)

But, it wouldn't be a true RZK tribute mani if I didn't add some silver, and I just happened to have Color Club's Broken Tokens sitting in front of me as well.

Happy birthday, Richard! That was my little dose of dorky fangirlishness for the day... We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

  3. The black SO pretty.
I think it's a very whimsical manicure, also, the black crackle on top of red - looks really cool. What brand is it?

  5. OMG, REALLY? I absolutely LOVE Rammstein myself :) My favorite band since I know myself as a person (from about 2000 till now, lol).
Richard is a babe, but in person Till is definitely my favorite. I wonder how I'd paint my nails to honor him... or maybe Schneider. He is soooooo charming and lovely and has a killer smile.
Love and miss those guys so much. Hope they'll come back to Brasil soon for some more fireworks, tequila and aftershow wild parties again :)
BTW, what a super shiny and beautiful black nailpolish! Loved it!! lml

  10. I always thought Richard was a bit feminine. When he arrived at the concert in Berlin he sported a purple jacket with glitter. I just love the guy. He's such a sweetheart and nice to the fans. Always has time to chat. Oh an I love your mani as well lol.

  11. this comment isn't even about your manicure...

...but I've followed this blog for awhile--and after finding Rammstein, FFVIII, and other obscure references in your various posts--I've determined that you are freakin' awesome!

  12. Love it - first photos without the crackle over them. I so wish I could wear OPI Onyx on its own, but it just really is one for some reason I cannot pull off unless I do an overlay. So that said, going to try again and break my mani/pedi Not sure which yet) up with tossing in one other bright..and loving this combo with Essie First Dance. I really think folks don't give the Essie reds enough credit. But then we are not in a red mood for too long in my opinion. I miss the great reds we always could count on for fall and holiday collections.

  14. Hello, I was wandering if you had a favorite black polish and if so what brand and color name. Also I love your blogs cause and this is going to sound silly but your nails are shaped just like mine and it gives me an even better idea of what a polish will look like on me and of course you are so great at the presentation and true color rendering in your photos. Keep up the good work. I always look to you for swatches.

  15. Aelie, Awesommmmmmeeee <3

Sussi, I'm still jealous! :D He's so funny. I love him. But I love Oliver more <3

Emily, you are awesome too! We could totally be buds. <3

    SANNA! *hugs*

Imperiterangel, my favorite black polish is Wet n Wild Black Creme- opaque in one coat and only 99 cents! I also love Illamasqua Boosh and Lippmann Fade To Black, but they're very pricey. OPI Black Onyx is good for a nice shiny jelly look, but it's more sheer than the other three. And thank you :)

  16. Sigh, I'm STILL doing my first nail as my accent nail. I could give this up. But it's so much fun...

I was at the May 10th 2011 Chicago concert also, yay! With my friend who I'm not quite sure was paying that much attention as she had a sinus infection at the time.

However, when we went on our April 23rd and May 1st 2012 concerts (got to love my job that sends me there at the right times), then May 4th, May 6th and May 20th - she kinda caught on.

I've now corrupted yet another friend to Rammstein.

Now we're off to Download this year.
