Preview of new Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection Summer 2012

Quick preview of the new Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection for Summer 2012:

Fashion and beauty have always gone hand in hand. Now, those hands have the nail polish to match. Introducing the Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection, the brand’s first collaboration with a fashion designer in the nail category.

Already frequent collaborators at New York Fashion Week, founder and creative director Francois Nars has partnered with Thakoon Panichgul to develop a limited edition, six-shade nail collection.

In conceptualizing the shade range, Thakoon was inspired by the vibrant colors found in Indian spice markets. The highly saturated, high-shine shades come in an opaque finish, perfect for spring. Formula is long-wearing, chip-resistant and toluene-, formaldehyde- and DBP-free.

Since his first collection in 2004, the Thailand-born, Nebraska-raised designer’s clothes have graced chic, modern women around the globe, including Jessica Alba, Marion Cotillard, Rachel Bilson, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Shades include:
Anardana – Azalea pink

Ratin Jot – Orchid purple

Amchoor – Bright yellow

Kutki – Powder blue

Koliary - Cyan blue

Lal Mirchi - Mandarin red (only available at NARS 413 Bleecker Street Boutique)

PRICE: $18 each
AVAILABILITY: Beginning May 1, 2012 on www.narscosmetics.com

  1. It's really fun to see colors like that in NARS bottles but really, there are so many similarities to colors already out by other brands. I'm a bit disappointed. :(

    1. Those were my exact thoughts when I saw the picture. First I went OOH THESE ARE NEAT! NARS doesn't usually do these colors! But then after I looked at them all, I thought... Already own that one, that one, that one... haha XD

  2. I have to agree. They are nice colours but we have seen then before.

  3. Am I right in thinking that NARS nail polishes don't really compare in quality to others in a similar price range (Lippmann, RBL)? I love their makeup but always shy away from the polishes.

  4. I might purchase a few colors I don't own already depending on the quality/opacity/price/dupes. As an Indian I am *loving* the names!

  5. I want these for the names OMG. I agree with Kita, as an Indian, these names are hilarious and spot-on! If I was going to purchase one, it'd probably be one of the baby blues because I don't own one yet.
